Becoming a member

The Canadian Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is an international non-profit medical society incorporated under the federal laws of Canada. CAFPRS members are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the advancement of plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head, face, and neck.

Membership in CAFPRS is open to all physicians and surgeons who are certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent and who have training and experience in plastic surgery of the head and neck.

While most CAFPRS members are Canadian, any appropriately qualified surgeon in the world may join this truly international academy.

1- The Academy’s highly appreciated “WhatsApp Group »

This is the most important advantage of being a member of the Academy.

Being a member of this exclusive “WhatsApp group” allows a CAFPRS member to receive advice, solve problems, and exchange  opinions—often within minutes—with the highly experienced and friendly members of this WhatsApp group.

This unique, very appreciated benefit is not offered by other societies, such as the AAFPRS.

2-The Academy’s New Social Media Campaign

This is the second most important benefit offered by the Academy, and is already generating referrals. The Academy retains a major PR firm to run coordinated campaigns across 4 media: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.

Although the campaign is expensive, it is completely free for all Fellows. Each post features content drawn from each Fellow’s best-performing posts, and every video prominently displays the surgeon’s name, phone number, and city to make it easy for patients to contact him/her.

3-Extremely low membership fees

The Academy’s fees are roughly one-quarter (or less) of comparable AAFPRS fees.

For example:

Member: $125 versus about $1,115 CAD (≈ $815 USD) at AAFPRS

Full Fellow: $375 versus about $1,330 CAD (≈ $975 USD) at AAFPRS

Membership helps establish your professional credibility when applying for privileges to perform facial plastic surgery at hospitals anywhere in the world.

5-Legality

The Academy is a legally recognized Canadian association in the field of facial plastic surgery within Canada.

 6-Protecting the interest of Facial Plastic Surgeons in Canada

The Academy has and will  protect the  interests  and rights of its members concerning their Facial Plastic  Surgery practice in Canada.
